Hi, I'm Alex.
I'm the person who does your books, answers your questions, lodges your BAS, and keeps your financial life from becoming a headache.
Why I started AG Bookkeeping
I grew up in Dandenong and spent years working hands-on across bookkeeping and accounting — handling real client books, lodging BAS, running payroll, and building Xero systems from scratch for small businesses.
The problem I kept seeing: small business owners — tradies, sole traders, service businesses — being overcharged by large firms for work that was already being handled by junior bookkeepers internally. They'd hear from their accountant once a year — at tax time — by which point problems had already stacked up and cost them.
I started AG Bookkeeping to fix that. Ongoing, proactive, genuinely affordable support — without the firm-level overheads or the big-firm distance.

My background & credentials
Six years of bookkeeping and four years of accounting experience across a wide range of industries. I'm a registered BAS Agent with the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) and a Xero Certified Advisor — I maintain both actively and stay current with ATO requirements year-round.
I've built Xero systems that clients can actually use themselves, and I've handled books across the board — from early-stage sole traders to multi-employee businesses with complex payroll.

AG Bookkeeping is a registered BAS Agent with the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) — Australia's government regulator for tax and BAS practitioners.
This is a legal requirement — not optional. Under Australian law, only registered BAS Agents can charge a fee for preparing and lodging Business Activity Statements on behalf of a client. Before engaging anyone for BAS work, check their registration.
